Lisa McCormick

Living in the outdoor wonderland of Bend, Oregon, Lisa McCormick splits her time between two callings:

  • By day she’s a dedicated advocate for the IDD community; keeping everyone in stitches with her unparalleled gift for unintentional puns and silly dances (just ask her clients about her “Sprinkler” and “Lawnmower” moves)
  • By night she’s an aspiring comedian, practicing her routines on her long-suffering cat Snickers, dreaming of opening and running a squirrel petting zoo.

Laura Weller

I have been living in Bend, OR and working at Deschutes county for going on 8 years as a Service Coordinator. 

I love my job and supporting people to live their best, most independent lives!  The Happyning Hub is a way for me to get away from staring at a computer, meet new people, and making goals come true! 

Amanda Hutt

My name is Amanda, and since 2018, I have been supporting residential home residents.

I am passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and encouraged to engage in group activities. I firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn new skills and hone their existing talents.

When I embarked on this career path,  I felt a deep sense of purpose in my soul to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Helping residents achieve their goals and working with The Happyning Hub, brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

A small, big-hearted crew making sure everyone in the Central Oregon IDD community has a place to belong.

Lisa McCormick

Founder & Advocate

Lisa McCormick is a dedicated advocate and service provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). While raising her children, Lisa operated an Adult Foster Home, where she developed a strong commitment to creating supportive, person-centered environments that promote dignity, confidence, and independence.

Today, Lisa leads Bend Family Friends and oversees four group homes in Bend, Oregon. Her work focuses on helping each person build meaningful independence skills, participate actively in their community, and live a life shaped by their own goals, preferences, and strengths. Lisa is passionate about providing compassionate, reliable support to individuals and families while fostering welcoming homes where people can thrive.

Through her years of experience, Lisa has remained committed to helping individuals live their best lives with the support, respect, and opportunities they deserve.

Amanda Hamer

Founder, Diversability Inc.

Amanda Hamer is the founder of Diversability, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting inclusion, connection, and meaningful opportunities for individuals of all abilities. With a strong commitment to community-based support, Amanda has welcomed The Happyning Hub under Diversability's wing, helping provide the nonprofit structure needed to expand fundraising efforts and accept donations.

Amanda has been a longtime friend and associate of Laura, Lisa, and Amanda Hutt. Her collaboration reflects a shared commitment to creating welcoming spaces, building supportive relationships, and helping individuals with disabilities live full, connected, and meaningful lives.
